The role is to manage and support the company's problem solving process for new products. This includes facilitating meetings, reporting to management on quality issues, co-ordinating with other groups, and maintaining the Reliability Tracking Database (McParts).

Role Details

  • Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System leader for new or current product programs, working closely with associated reliability engineers.
  • Manage and own the partition of the relevant new or current product reliability tracking database.
  • Create the necessary structure in the database. Find and correct errors in the incident and issue information.
  • Maintains appropriate access control for users.
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly/monthly meetings to review issues and progress toward issue resolution, as appropriate for business unit. Sets agendas, working with appropriate levels of management.
  • Lead daily/weekly/bi-weekly new incidents meetings, as appropriate for BU. Determine whether incidents are new or existing, making recommendations on disposition in database.
  • Take action from meetings to assign issues in database.
  • Work with FRACAS coordinators in other businesses as needed.
  • Attend appropriate functional excellence meetings.
  • Maintain failed parts tracking system, ensuring that parts are transferred between customer locations, testing facilities, engineers, and suppliers as needed.
  • Coordination of GPRPs (Global Problem Recurrence Prevention) for FRACAS issues.
  • Maintain regular connections with Functional Excellence GPRP team in relation to GPRP status and metrics.


  • Strong experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of (FRACAS) Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System
