SUMMARY OF ROLE
To assemble and solder electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) to a high standard of quality and accuracy. The role involves reading assembly drawings and documentation, carrying out visual quality inspections, using small hand tools, and maintaining an organised work area. Full training will be provided to develop skills in SMT machinery, testing and repairing electronic assemblies, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with good attention to detail, steady hand to eye coordination, and an interest in electronics.

ESSENTIAL TO APPLY
- Previous experience in electronic soldering, including through hole and/or surface mount components.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with small components.
- Good hand to eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions and Bills of Materials.
- Knowledge of electronic component identification.
- Ability to carry out visual quality inspections and identify defects.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Reliable, organised and able to maintain a tidy work area.
Desirable
- Previous SMT (Surface Mount Technology) experience.
- Experience operating Pick and Place machines.
- Experience testing electronic assemblies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Solder electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) to the required quality standards.
- Manually install electronic components by following written instructions, drawings and schematics.
- Perform visual quality inspections of PCBs and rectify defects where necessary.
- Use small hand tools to position and assemble components.
- Read and interpret Bills of Materials, assembly drawings and process documentation.
- Identify electronic components accurately.
- Carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Maintain component stock counts and assist with reordering components.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues.
- Recognise minor issues and escalate more significant problems to a supervisor.
- Maintain a neat, organised and safe working area.
- Carry out other duties as required.

- Willingness to train on SMT machinery, requiring strong attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.
