We are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well established manufacturing business based in the Slaithwaite area. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting a variety of industrial equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operation of the site.

This role involves maintaining production machinery and site equipment to help ensure the facility operates efficiently with minimal downtime. The successful candidate will carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns and support improvements to equipment reliability.

This position would suit someone with strong mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Key responsibilities
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on machinery and site equipment.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults on production machinery.
- Maintaining compressors, extraction systems and associated equipment.
- Responding to breakdowns to minimise disruption to production.
- Working closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Ensuring maintenance work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
- Keeping maintenance records and reporting any issues identified.
Requirements
- Experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical fault finding and repair skills.
- Experience working with compressors and extraction systems.
- Experience repairing and maintaining industrial machinery.
- Ability to work independently and manage maintenance tasks effectively.
Desirable skills
- Electrical maintenance or fault finding experience would be beneficial but not essential.
- Experience working at heights would be an advantage but not essential.
