A well established engineering and manufacturing business based in Dewsbury is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join the leadership team. This position reports directly to the Operations Director and will play an important role in ensuring that the company’s products, processes and systems consistently meet customer expectations, legal requirements and industry standards.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the company’s quality and environmental management systems, ensuring compliance with recognised standards while supporting continuous improvement across the organisation. The role will involve working closely with internal departments, suppliers and customers to maintain high levels of quality throughout manufacturing and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and improve the company’s quality management systems and procedures.
Ensure all manufacturing and production processes comply with relevant national and international standards.
Maintain and manage ISO 9001 quality accreditation and ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
Review customer specifications and ensure internal processes meet required standards and expectations.
Work closely with purchasing teams to establish quality requirements for external suppliers.
Set and monitor quality standards across the organisation, including supporting health and safety requirements.
Coordinate internal audit programmes and ensure any non compliance issues are addressed and resolved.
Maintain quality documentation, procedures and control systems.
Monitor performance through data collection and analysis, producing reports to support decision making.
Prepare documentation and information for customers where required.

Candidate Requirements

Experience working within a quality management role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong understanding of quality systems and standards, including ISO frameworks.
Excellent organisational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks and coordinate activities across teams.
Strong computer literacy and familiarity with common business systems.

Desirable

Internal auditing qualification.
Experience using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
