An established engineering and fabrication company based in Dewsbury is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Tekla Structures Draughtsperson to join its design team. This role reports to the Design Office Manager and will involve producing detailed drawings and models for structural and secondary steelwork projects.
The successful candidate will play an important part in the design process, working closely with colleagues, clients and the workshop team to ensure projects move smoothly from concept through to manufacture and installation.
Key Responsibilities
Producing detailed Tekla Structures models and drawings for structural and secondary steelwork projects.
Preparing fabrication, general arrangement and erection drawings for manufacture and installation.
Modifying existing steelwork designs and creating models for new structures.
Interpreting client specifications and ensuring drawings meet project requirements.
Working closely with colleagues, clients and shop floor teams to support project delivery.
Carrying out site surveys when required to support design work.
Ensuring all drawings and models are produced accurately and efficiently.
Supporting the wider design team and assisting with other tasks when required.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience working as a Tekla Structures Draughtsperson within a steelwork or structural engineering environment.
Experience producing structural and secondary steelwork drawings, including items such as stairs and ladders.
Strong understanding of fabrication drawings and workshop procedures.
Experience creating GA drawings and erection drawings.
Ability to work with models from other disciplines within Tekla to assist with construction.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Experience
Experience working within engineering sectors such as chemical, pharmaceutical or water industry projects.
Previous experience carrying out site surveys.
